ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – A senior Iranian official has warned the United States not to launch a ground invasion, saying American troops would face severe retaliation, as regional leaders met in Pakistan to try to end the ongoing war.

Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, criticised recent diplomatic efforts, claiming they were a cover while the US sends more troops to the Middle East. He said Iran is fully prepared to defend its territory and would respond strongly to any attack by the US or its allies.
Meanwhile, foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt held talks in Islamabad to promote dialogue and reduce tensions. However, there has been little progress, as fighting continues between Iran, the US, and Israel.
The conflict, which began with US and Israeli strikes on Iran, has now lasted a month and killed over 3,000 people. Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks across the region.
The US has deployed additional troops, although Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington could achieve its goals without sending ground forces.
Tensions have further increased after Iran warned it may target Israeli and US-linked institutions following attacks on its universities. At the same time, Yemen’s Houthi rebels have joined the conflict, raising concerns about global shipping and oil supplies.
Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, both sides remain far apart, and the situation in the region continues to worsen.
