In a brief but unexpected moment during a formal diplomatic event, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stumbled while welcoming Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Sunday.
The incident occurred at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad as Dar stepped forward to greet the visiting dignitary.
He appeared to lose his footing and briefly fell, prompting immediate assistance from staff and security personnel. The stumble, though minor, drew the attention of attendees and onlookers, but there was no lasting impact.
Officials later confirmed that Dar was completely unharmed and proceeded with the planned bilateral discussions without interruption. The scheduled meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan-Egypt relations and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, and regional security.
Despite the momentary mishap, the diplomatic engagement continued smoothly, with both ministers emphasizing the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
