LAhHORE: (Sports Desk) – Quetta Gladiators secured their first victory in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with a commanding 40-run win over Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.
Young batsmen Shamyl Hussain and Hasan Nawaz both reached half-centuries, powering Quetta to a total of 174 for eight in 20 overs. Hussain top-scored with 54 off 41 balls, while Nawaz contributed 53 from 40 deliveries. Tom Curran added a quick 31 late in the innings. For Hyderabad, Riley Meredith took three wickets, with Maheesh Theekshana claiming two.
In response, Hyderabad Kingsmen were restricted to 134 for eight, continuing their struggle as newcomers in the league after a previous 69-run defeat to Lahore Qalandars.
Irfan Khan top-scored with 33, followed by Hassan Khan with 31. Quetta’s spinner Abrar Ahmed starred with the ball, taking three wickets, supported by Ahmed Daniyal’s two.
The all-round performance highlighted Quetta Gladiators’ dominance and marked a strong start to their PSL 11 campaign.
