LAHORE: In the Punjab Assembly session, there was a heated debate between the opposition and government members on the Iran-Israel war and the situation of law and order, while one ordinance and three bills have bee presented in the House.

During the meeting, opposition member Rana Aftab Ahmed criticized the government for the illegal challans and said that four challans have been issued and the concerned department only talks about review, while the government took a stand that strengthening the institutions is everyone’s responsibility.
On the delay in payments in the health sector, Raja Shaukat Bhatti said that despite the allocation of billions of rupees, the lower class is not getting salaries, while Parliamentary Secretary Asma Abbasi said that payment of 40,000 rupees per month is being ensured to the workers. Draft laws related to protection, registration and public sector universities were presented and sent to the relevant committees, while the resolution against dismissals in journalistic institutions was unanimously approved, demanding timely payment of salaries of media workers and protection of jobs. Opposition leader Moin Riaz Qureshi accused the government of not condemning the Iran-Israel tension, while the government members paid tribute to the Pakistan Army and the leadership.
