The committee reviewed audit paras related to the Irrigation Department, its attached departments, and autonomous bodies.
During the meeting, the committee expressed strong displeasure over the delayed submission of working papers. It also issued strict observations regarding the presence of unnecessary staff, particularly in light of the government’s ongoing energy-saving policy.
The committee directed the concerned departments to properly pursue court cases linked to the audit paras.
It was noted that several audit paras have been delayed due to a lack of cooperation from departments including the Forest Department, Board of Revenue, and Local Government Department. The committee ordered that representatives from these departments be summoned for the next meeting.
Furthermore, the committee instructed the relevant authorities to take immediate steps to recover all pending audit amounts and ensure that outstanding observations are resolved without further delay.
