LAHORE: A spiritually uplifting Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) gathering was held at the office of Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Punjab to commemorate the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) Senior officers and employees of the Excise Department attended the gathering.
The gathering was attended by Additional Secretary Excise Ahmed Kamal, Muzammil Husnain, Additional Director General Ahmed Saeed, and Directors Shahid Ali Gilani, Iftikhar Bhalli Mushtaq Fareedi and Jam Siraj along with other officers and employees.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Zia Mustafa, a senior officer of the Excise Department and Hafiz-e-Quran. Later, Hafiz Marghoob Ahmed Hamdani and Muhammad Imtiaz presented Naats in praise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. The speakers highlighted the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), saying that his blessed life is a guiding light for all humanity. They emphasized the need to promote brotherhood, tolerance, honesty, integrity and a spirit of service to humanity in both individual and collective life by following the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Secretary Excise Masood Mukhtar said that organizing Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was a matter of great honour and blessing. He said that love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is an integral part of faith; however, true devotion requires Muslims to follow his teachings and adopt his exemplary way of life in their practical affairs. He emphasized that government officers and employees, in particular, should make honesty, dedication to duty and public service their guiding principles.
The arrangements for the Milad gathering were made by Deputy Secretary (Admin) Maham Mushtaq, whose efforts were appreciated by the participants. The gathering concluded with special prayers for the security, stability, progress and prosperity of the country and for the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
