WASHINGTON (Web Desk) Meta Platforms has officially introduced Instagram Plus, a new subscription service designed to offer enhanced tools, greater personalisation and additional content features for users around the world.
The company said the premium option will operate alongside the standard free version of Instagram, which will continue to be available without any changes for existing users.
According to Meta, the subscription has been developed for users seeking more advanced controls and creative capabilities within the platform. Instagram Plus provides access to a range of exclusive features aimed at improving content creation, audience engagement and account management.
One of the most notable additions is an extended Story duration, allowing subscribers to keep Stories visible for up to 48 hours instead of the traditional 24-hour limit. The service also includes expanded analytics, helping users gain deeper insights into content performance and audience activity.
Subscribers will also receive new engagement tools, including animated reactions and enhanced Story Spotlight features designed to increase the visibility of posts among friends and followers.

In addition, Instagram Plus introduces a privacy-focused viewing option that enables users to watch Stories without their activity being visible to others. The feature is expected to appeal to users looking for greater discretion while browsing content.
Meta said the goal of the new subscription is to provide additional flexibility and creative opportunities while preserving the core Instagram experience for users who choose to remain on the free version.
The company began testing Instagram Plus in May 2026 with a limited group of users before expanding the service worldwide. Officials said the global rollout follows months of evaluation, user feedback and performance assessments.
