LAHORE, June 6, 2026 : Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar has submitted his response to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency in connection with the case filed by actress Momina Iqbal, denying all allegations and describing the complaint as baseless.
In the statement submitted to investigators, Chadhar claimed that he first met Momina Iqbal in 2020 and that the two later developed a close personal relationship. He alleged that they travelled together on several occasions within Pakistan and abroad, with him covering the expenses of those trips.
The lawmaker further claimed that he later learned information regarding Momina Iqbal’s previous marriage and divorce, which he alleged had not been disclosed to him earlier. According to his statement, he decided not to pursue marriage after becoming aware of those details.
Chadhar told investigators that the relationship ended in August 2025. He also made several financial claims, alleging that funds were transferred to Momina Iqbal and members of her family over a period of time. He further alleged that certain payments were made for educational expenses and other financial matters.
In his submission, the MPA claimed that photographs and videos related to the relationship existed on the actress’s mobile phone and alleged that unidentified individuals had threatened to make the material public. He stated that he had urged Momina Iqbal and her sister not to share any such content.
The lawmaker also maintained that Momina Iqbal was aware that he was married and asserted that call records could support his version of events.
Chadhar further alleged that there were inconsistencies in the complaint submitted to authorities and argued that the accusations against him were false. He also claimed that he had received threats from an individual identified as Hamza and said a separate case had been registered regarding that matter.
Meanwhile, a Lahore sessions court has granted interim bail to Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Samira. The court directed both applicants to cooperate with investigators and submit surety bonds of Rs50,000 each.
The order further requires them to attend all future hearings until a final decision is reached on their bail applications.
The NCCIA is continuing its investigation into the case, which was registered against Saqib Chadhar and his wife following allegations made by Momina Iqbal.
