ISLAMABAD — The federal government has announced revised prices for petroleum products, increasing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) while slightly reducing the price of petrol, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division).

The revised prices, based on recommendations by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), will take effect from July 21, 2026.

Under the latest revision, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs5.71 per litre, taking the new price from Rs354.35 to Rs360.06 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of motor spirit (petrol) has been reduced by Rs0.35 per litre, bringing it down from Rs316.15 to Rs315.80 per litre.

The Ministry of Energy said the revised rates were determined under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism and based on OGRA’s review of ex-depot prices.

The increase in diesel prices is expected to affect transportation, agriculture and industrial sectors, where diesel is widely used, while the marginal reduction in petrol prices will provide limited relief to motorists.

The revised prices will remain effective until the next official review under the government’s fuel pricing schedule.
