ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has dismissed social media reports concerning his alleged engagement and marriage, saying the claims are entirely false and distract attention from genuine public issues.

In a video message, Bilawal responded to speculation circulating on social media about his personal life.

“Social media has not only confirmed my relationship but has also got me engaged and married,” he said while referring to the rumours.

The former foreign minister categorically rejected the claims, saying no such development had taken place.

“I want to make it clear that nothing of this sort has happened, nor do I know any Princess Gloria,” Bilawal said.

His remarks came after claims concerning his purported relationship, engagement and marriage circulated across social media platforms, prompting speculation among users.

Bilawal criticised the spread of such stories, describing them as a social media “spectacle” that diverted public attention from matters of genuine importance.

He suggested that greater attention should instead be paid to substantive issues affecting the country and its people.

The PPP chairman’s direct clarification effectively rejected the claims about his reported engagement or marriage and his alleged association with a woman identified on social media as “Princess Gloria.”

Bilawal, one of Pakistan’s most prominent political leaders, has frequently attracted public and media interest over his personal life. The latest speculation, however, prompted him to personally intervene through a video statement to set the record straight.

His statement also highlighted growing concerns about unverified information spreading rapidly through social media, particularly when it involves public figures.
