The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has removed Mohammad Wasim from his position as head coach of the national women’s cricket team following a dismal run in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
In a statement, the PCB confirmed that the process of appointing a new head coach is in progress, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening women’s cricket in the country.

Wasim, who took charge in 2024 with full authority, failed to guide the team to a single victory in the global tournament. Pakistan lost four of their matches, while three were abandoned due to rain.
Despite the disappointing results, the women’s team earned praise for their spirited bowling performances against strong opponents like Australia and England.
All of Pakistan’s seven World Cup fixtures were held at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium, where the team faced defeats against India, Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
