Who are the candidates contesting LCCI Corporate and Associate Class elections 2026?

LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) election battle has formally taken shape, with 50 candidates entering the Corporate Class race and 62 contesting the Associate Class, while six women entrepreneurs are competing for two reserved seats.

The provisional list, issued by the LCCI Election Commission on Sept. 5 under Rule 18(11) of the Trade Organizations Rules 2013, provides the first detailed picture of the field ahead of the chamber elections. The LCCI has also published the provisional list on its official website.

According to the election notice, 15 Executive Committee members each are to be elected from the Corporate and Associate classes, while two seats are reserved for women entrepreneurs — one each from the Corporate and Associate classes. The subsequent office-bearer structure comprises a president from the Corporate Class, a senior vice president from the Associate Class and a vice president.

Corporate Class: 50 candidates in the field

The 50 Corporate Class candidates, along with their companies or firms as listed in the provisional list, are:

Six women candidates seek two reserved seats
Three candidates have entered the contest for the Corporate Class women entrepreneur seat:

1. Huma Junaid of Qasar-E-Noor Foods,
2. Maliha Barry of Khoshgawar Foods (Pvt)
3.  Anam Qazi of Virsa (Pvt) Ltd.

For the Associate Class women entrepreneur seat, the provisional candidates are:

1. Naila Nadeem of I.M. Communication,
2. Shaheen Kausar of Shaheen Advisors
3. and Nilopher Sikander of Design Studio.

This takes the provisional field to 118 candidacies — 50 Corporate, 62 Associate and six for the two women entrepreneur seats.

Last election ended in a clean sweep

The numbers acquire greater significance against the backdrop of the last fully contested LCCI elections in 2024, when the PIAF Pioneers Progressive Alliance swept all 15 Corporate Class seats. Its highest-polling Corporate candidate, Tanveer Ahmed, received 1,416 votes, while the alliance’s 15th candidate received 1,271. The rival PIAF Founders-LBF Front candidates polled between 910 and 1,124 votes.  The result was even more emphatic in the Associate Class. The PIAF Pioneers Progressive Alliance won all 15 seats with 3,775 panel votes, compared with 2,227 votes for the PIAF Founder-LBF Group, a margin of 1,548. A total of 7,500 votes were cast out of a reported 13,699 in that class.

The alliance ultimately secured all 32 Executive Committee seats, including the reserved seats, before Mian Abuzar Shad, Engineer Khalid Usman and Shahid Nazir Chaudhry were elected president, senior vice president and vice president, respectively.

Several names appearing in the 2026 provisional list also figured prominently in the 2024 contest, making this year’s election more than a contest among newcomers. The final balance will depend on how the rival business groups distribute tickets, whether the current alliances hold together, withdrawals before the final list and, ultimately, their ability to mobilise Corporate and Associate Class voters.

Importantly, the Sept. 5 document is a provisional candidate list, not the final ballot. Therefore, the present field of 118 candidacies may change through scrutiny, appeals and withdrawals before the Election Commission issues the final list.
