In his post, Trump wrote: “I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?”
He described the moment as “one of the most important in the long and complex history of the world” and claimed that “47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end,” concluding with a blessing for “the Great People of Iran.”
Trump has reportedly set a deadline of 20:00 EDT (00:00 GMT / 01:00 BST Wednesday) for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route, raising fears of escalating tensions in the already volatile region.
Experts and international observers have warned that such rhetoric from a former US president could be dangerously provocative, potentially undermining diplomatic efforts and stoking global instability. Critics argue that framing foreign policy in apocalyptic terms may contribute to panic and geopolitical risk.
