Iran turned down a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal, describing the terms as “maximalist” and insisting that any resolution would be based on its own conditions.
Officials in Tehran emphasized that the war would only end when their demands are met, while presenting a counter-plan that includes security guarantees, reparations, and control over strategic waterways.
At the same time, Iranian leadership has reiterated that negotiations under pressure are unacceptable, with authorities vowing to continue military operations and defend national interests.
The rejection comes despite claims from Washington that talks are still ongoing, highlighting a widening gap between both sides’ narratives.
Recent developments indicate that Iran has intensified military actions in the region, targeting multiple locations while warning it will respond forcefully to any escalation.
Analysts say the stalemate reduces chances of an immediate ceasefire and raises concerns about further instability across the region.
