VEHARI (News Desk) – In a swift and decisive operation, the Anti-Corruption Department apprehended a patwari and his clerk while they were allegedly accepting a bribe in Vehari, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The suspects, identified as patwari Arsalan and clerk Shakeel, were caught red-handed during a raid carried out by a circle inspector following a complaint lodged by a citizen named Jahangir. Authorities said the accused had demanded illegal payment in exchange for processing the transfer of a five-marla plot in area 12/WB.
Officials recovered the marked bribe money from the possession of the suspects at the scene, strengthening the case against them. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to curb corruption within the land revenue system.
A formal case has been registered, and further investigations are under way to determine whether the accused were involved in additional corrupt practices.
The Anti-Corruption Department reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability, urging citizens to report any instances of bribery or misconduct.
