According to an official statement, the board issued a show-cause notice to the اللاعب on March 27, detailing the alleged breaches and seeking an explanation. After receiving his response, a three-member disciplinary committee conducted a personal hearing to review the matter.
The PCB stated that although Naseem Shah submitted an unconditional apology, he was found to have violated multiple provisions of his contract, resulting in the hefty fine.
The board also confirmed that his social media adviser has been dismissed and will be blacklisted, barring them from working with any players under the PCB.
Reaffirming its stance, the PCB emphasised the importance of maintaining professional conduct, particularly on social media platforms.
In a statement shared later, Naseem Shah clarified that the controversial post was made by his management team and did not represent his personal views. He accepted responsibility for his account and apologised for the incident, assuring that corrective measures have been taken.
Reports suggest the post appeared to criticise Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ahead of the Pakistan Super League opening match. The tweet was later deleted, with Shah initially claiming his account had been hacked before issuing a clarification.
