RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said on Thursday he would remain outside Adiala jail overnight with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and supporters after being denied access to jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.

Afridi arrived at Factory Naka, a police checkpoint near the prison, accompanied by PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja, saying several party lawmakers had gathered while more were on their way to join the protest.
He said the group was demanding a meeting between Khan, his family members, and his personal physician, adding that continued restrictions had made demonstrations outside the prison increasingly frequent. Afridi warned that the government would bear responsibility if the situation deteriorated.
The move follows PTI statements expressing concern over Khan’s health. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed earlier that Khan underwent a medical procedure for an eye condition at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad.
Raja said a list of approved visitors had been submitted to the prison administration in line with court directions, calling access to Khan a fundamental right. Police enforced heightened security across Adiala Road, nearby neighborhoods, and major motorway toll points.
