Women Police Officers Promoted to SP Rank Met with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar

By Our Correspondent

LAHORE: Women police officers promoted from ASP to SP rank belonging to the 47th Common, along with their families, visited the Central Police Office and met with Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. On this occasion, Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry and DIG Headquarters Zeeshan Asghar, along with other officials were present. The promoted officers include SP Anam Tajammul, SP Kainat Azhar Khan, and SP Khadija Umar.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and other senior police officers congratulated the promoted SPs and their families, wishing them the best for their future careers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar presented promotion letters to the women police officers. He said that the female officers had demonstrated outstanding performance in rural and urban policing, crime fighting, law and order control and public service delivery while serving as ASPs. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that the promoted SPs are future leaders who should ensure justice through sound decision-making and high-quality investigations. He also highlighted that women police officers in Punjab Police are facing challenges such as terrorism and extremism alongside their male counterparts with exceptional skills and dedication.

Meanwhile. Additional IG Training Punjab Tariq Rustam Chohan said that Punjab Police is not only combating crime but also ensuring the provision of modern policing services to the citizens. Projects such as Tahaffuz markaz, Khidmat markaz, Meesaq Centers, and Foster Homes are successfully running to assist and protect vulnerable segments of the society. Modern training, advanced resources, and public-centric policing have become the core principles of the force. He expressed these views while addressing the 35 trainee officers of the 51st Inland Study Tour Program at the Central Police Office today.
According to details, the 51st Inland Study Tour Program included trainee officers from the Staff Training Institute of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Superintendents, PAs, Tehsildars, and officers of other ranks. AIG R&D Sajid Hussain Khokhar briefed the delegation on the working of Punjab Police, public service delivery projects and field formations. Additional IG Training Tariq Rustam Chohan also answered various questions regarding the working, infrastructure development and professional challenges faced by the force. Additionally, Additional IG Training presented the book “Thany Punjab De,” which focuses on the upgradation of police stations in Punjab, to the delegation. In return, the delegation presented traditional Pakols from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Additional IG Training and AIG R&D.
