LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Ali Hussam Asghar held a meeting with Iranian Consul General H.E. Mehran Movahed Far to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

The meeting, described as fruitful and constructive, focused on expanding commercial relations and creating greater opportunities for businesses in both countries.
Ali Hussam Asghar emphasised the importance of stronger business-to-business engagement between Pakistani and Iranian companies, with discussions covering opportunities to increase trade, improve commercial linkages and address issues affecting the two business communities.
The LCCI president said closer interaction between the private sectors of Pakistan and Iran could help identify new avenues for trade and investment while contributing to stronger economic relations between the neighbouring countries.
The Iranian Consul General also participated in discussions on ways to promote economic cooperation and facilitate greater engagement between businesses from the two countries.
The meeting provided a platform for both sides to exchange views on existing economic challenges and explore practical approaches to expanding bilateral commercial activity.
LCCI Senior Vice President Sardar Usman Ghani was also present at the meeting. He joined the discussions on strengthening economic cooperation and developing stronger links between the business communities of Pakistan and Iran.
LCCI Executive Committee members Mardan Ali Zaidi, Syed Azmat Ali, Ali Raza and others also attended the meeting.
The participants stressed the importance of maintaining regular interaction between business leaders and diplomatic representatives to identify opportunities for increased trade and resolve issues faced by traders and investors.
The engagement reflects the LCCI’s efforts to strengthen international business connections and provide Pakistani entrepreneurs with opportunities to develop partnerships in regional markets.
Pakistan and Iran share geographical proximity and long-standing commercial relations, offering potential for increased bilateral trade across various sectors. Business leaders have consistently emphasised the need for stronger institutional coordination and direct contact between the private sectors of both countries.
