LAHORE The reign of air pollution and smog has continued in Lahore as the number of chemical substances in the city’s atmosphere will reach 122 per cent more than what the WHO guidelines restricted.
According to meteorological experts, the quality index of Lahore reached 1073 and the intensity of smog will continue in Lahore for the next 48 hours.
NASA has released an aerial image of smog from large-scale burning of crop residues in Indian regions.
Along with the high–speed wind coming from India, the smoke also entered the Pakistani areas.
The climate experts say that large-scale burning of crop residues in Indian regions leads to a rapid increase in smog.
In different areas of Lahore, the air quality was recorded from 1000 to 1600 AQI, which is extremely harmful to health, while according to the Meteorological Department, the visibility level in the city became zero.
