LAHORE, September 28, 2026: The Department of Visual Arts, Institute of Design and Visual Arts (IDVA), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), inaugurated its Degree Show 2026. The exhibition features the creative, intellectual, and research-based work of students in Painting, Miniature Painting, Ceramics, and Calligraphy.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi as Chief Guest, while Ms. Qudsia Rahim, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Lahore Biennale Foundation, attended as Guest of Honour.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi appreciated the students’ creative work and congratulated both the students and faculty on the successful organization of the Degree Show. She said the exhibited work reflects creativity, intellectual depth, dedication, and artistic skill.

She added that LCWU remains committed to providing students with platforms where they can refine their abilities, explore new ideas, and connect their academic and creative learning with professional practice.
Ms. Qudsia Rahim appreciated the themes, techniques, and contemporary approaches presented in the exhibition. She noted that degree shows of this nature provide students with an important opportunity to develop their creative identity and present their ideas in a professional setting.
Dr. Sadia Murtaza, Head of the Department of Visual Arts, welcomed the distinguished guests and said that the Degree Show serves as an important platform for students’ creative training, research, and artistic expression, while also connecting them with contemporary social and cultural concerns.
The Degree Show 2026 reflects the vision and continued encouragement of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi towards promoting creative education, innovation, and professional development at LCWU.
The exhibition will remain open until October 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Department of Visual Arts, IDVA, LCWU.
The Degree Show and students’ projects were supported and supervised by Dr. Rabia Yaseen, Dr. Sidra Liaqat, Dr. Sobia Maqsood, Mr. Shiblee Muneer, Ms. Rehana Salman, and Ms. Roohi Jamal Noor.
