LAHORE – The Punjab government has intensified efforts to modernise public service delivery through its “Maryam ki Dastak” initiative, designed to provide citizens with easier access to government facilities without visiting offices.

The programme combines doorstep assistance with digital service delivery, allowing residents to apply for a wide range of government services from their homes. Citizens can submit requests through a dedicated mobile application or by calling the official helpline.

Under the system, trained facilitators visit applicants to verify documents, collect paperwork and assist with completing official procedures. Users may also choose a self-service option that enables online submissions and digital tracking of applications.

Officials say the platform now covers more than 76 public services, including domicile certificates, birth and death registration, land records, vehicle-related services, police verification and driving licence facilities.

The initiative is aimed at reducing waiting times, minimising unnecessary visits to government offices and improving service accessibility for senior citizens, women, persons with disabilities and residents of remote areas.
