LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized the second session of its “One Day One University” program, featuring an exhibition of products, projects of job creators , and prototypes developed by students of Lahore Garrison University (LGU). LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol inaugurated the exhibition and appreciated the students’ innovative ideas, research projects, and creative abilities.

The event was attended by LCCI Vice President Khurram Lodhi, Vice Chancellor of Lahore Garrison University Major General Muhammad Khalil Dar, Director General of the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan Nauman Aslam Sheikh, Executive Committee Members Rana Nisar, Rana Shoban Akhtar, Karamat Ali Awan, and Amina Randhawa, along with Convener Umer Saleem, faculty members, students, and representatives of the business community.
Speaking on the occasion, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that connecting young talent with business opportunities is one of the Chamber’s key priorities.

He noted that the “One Day One University” initiative serves as an important platform to bridge the gap between academia and industry, enabling students to gain exposure to the practical business environment. He said that students’ creativity and innovation can play a significant role in Pakistan’s economic development, while stronger collaboration between universities and industry can promote research, innovation, and product development.
He further said that LCCI is taking practical steps to introduce young people to business and industrial sectors. Appreciating the tremendous potential reflected in the students’ products and prototypes, he emphasized that collaboration among education, research, and industry is the foundation of sustainable economic growth. He stressed the need to develop young people into job creators rather than job seekers and reaffirmed LCCI’s commitment to strengthening links between academia and the business community while helping students acquire skills aligned with market needs.
Vice Chancellor LGU Major General Muhammad Khalil Dar said that providing students with modern skills and practical opportunities alongside education is essential in today’s world.

He added that Lahore Garrison University is equipping students with modern education, research capabilities, innovation, and practical skills. Strong collaboration between universities and industry, he said, can create better opportunities for students while contributing to national development.

Director General IPO Pakistan Nauman Aslam Sheikh briefed students on intellectual property rights and their importance. He said that students today have greater educational and professional opportunities than ever before, but they must also understand the importance of protecting their innovations and creative work.

He noted that even small-scale research and innovation deserve intellectual property protection and encouraged students to ensure legal protection for every new idea, invention, or creation they develop.

He further emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among industry, academia, and government and acknowledged the important role of LCCI in promoting business growth and protecting intellectual property rights.
