LAHORE: Virtual Women Police Station, established under the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, successfully intervened in a case of domestic violence, rescuing a young girl and her family from further abuse. A teenage girl from the Tajpura area of Lahore called the emergency helpline 15 to report that her father had thrown a glass at her, causing serious injury, and was also physically assaulting her mother and brother.
Upon receiving the call, the Virtual Women Police Station, established under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, immediately alerted the concerned police station. Ghaziabad Police responded swiftly and reached the scene, arresting the accused.
Initial reports indicate that the arrested individual had a history of physically abusing his children and such behavior was habitual for him. On the instructions of the Virtual Women Police Station, the police registered an FIR and initiated further legal proceedings.
According to the spokesperson of Punjab Safe Cities Authority, ensuring a safe environment for women and children is a top priority. If any woman is facing domestic violence or harassment, she is urged to call the emergency helpline 15 and press “2” to seek assistance from the Virtual Women Police Station.
