[:en]Delegation of 40th mid-career management course pays study visit to Central Police Office[:]

LAHORE: Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that police working has been shifted from traditional to modern policing model with the effective use of modern technology, New Safe Cities projects are being rapidly completed in several districts which will further improve crime control, traffic management and monitoring of sensitive areas, surveillance and community policing initiatives.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar shared that modern reforms have been implemented across operations, investigations, traffic, and police stations, accelerating the provision of policing services to citizens and crime prevention. He also highlighted that modern training courses, promotions, and recruitment processes are ongoing to enhance the capacity of the police force, with more personnel to be promoted on merit. IG Punjab expressed these views during his conversation with officers undergoing the 40th Mid-Career Management Course on their visit of Central Police Office.


The delegation from the National Institute of Management Quetta included officers from the Pakistan Administrative Service, Inland Revenue Services, Police Service of Pakistan, Railways, and provincial services of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, among other institutions. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar briefed the officers on recent modern reforms in the Punjab Police and answered various questions posed by the officers. Additional IG Establishment Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry and Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riaz Nazir Gara informed the delegation about the upgrade measures within the police framework. AIG Admin and Security Dr. Rizwan Ahmad briefed the delegation on the administrative and professional matters of the Punjab Police. The participants were shown a documentary film on various field formations, reforms, and the public service delivery system. At the end of the visit, commemorative souvenirs were exchanged between the delegation head and police.


Meanwhile, delegation of scholars led by Chairman Islamic Ideological Council Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi visited the Central Police Office and met with Additional IG Operations Punjab, Shehzada Sultan.The delegation included Mufti Intikhab Ahmad, Mufti Muhammad Imran, Maulana Sardar Muhammad Khan Leghari, Maulana Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi, and Maulana Ihsan-ul-Haq Siddiqui. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including security of mosques and madrasas, Muharram security arrangements were discussed.
<span;>Additional IG Operations Punjab, Shehzada Sultan, said that Punjab Police is ensuring the security of mosques, imambargahs, and madrassas according to SOPs. He assured that strict security arrangements will also be made for Eid-ul-Adha in accordance with the SOPs. Furthermore, Shehzada Sultan mentioned that Punjab Police will ensure compliance with the Punjab Home Department’s guidelines regarding the collection of animal hides during Eid-ul-Adha. Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of police martyrs and ghazis in maintaining law and order, stating that scholars will continue to play their role in promoting interfaith harmony, peace and Muslim unity.


Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, remains committed and active in ensuring the best health welfare for police employees as well as their families, continuing his ongoing initiatives, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has released an additional 1.8 million rupees for the medical treatment of personnel stationed in various districts, including Lahore. According to the details, Muhammad Hashim, a ghazi official from Dera Ghazi Khan, has been given 500,000 rupees for the treatment of paralysis.Shahid Al-Sadaf, driver constable from Hafizabad, has been given 500,000 rupees for kidney treatment. Constable Muhammad Zaheer Akhtar of Lahore Police has been granted 300,000 rupees for heart disease treatment. Constable Muhammad Shafiq from Kasur has received 250,000 rupees for major surgery. Constable Zahid Mahmood from Rawalpindi has been given 250,000 rupees for the treatment of his wife’s brain tumor. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has released these funds under the Welfare Medical Financial Assistance category. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the utmost priority is given to the best health welfare of police personnel, and all possible measures are being taken. He also emphasized that no officer suffering from a severe illness will be left alone in their struggle for recovery.

Following IG Punjab’s directives, senior police officers, including RPOs and DPOs, visited local mosques across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Jumu’ah (Friday prayers). They listened to the issues faced by citizens and issued directives for their resolution.
