LAHORE: Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza has announced a comprehensive relief package for citizens during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, emphasising that providing relief to residents remains the district administration’s top priority.

The DC issued strict directives to control inflation and combat price gouging during the sacred month of fasting. “Ramadan should be a time of peace and blessings for all Muslims,” stated DC Syed Musa Raza while instructing price control magistrates to maintain a vigilant field presence throughout the month. The Deputy Commissioner has ordered stringent monitoring of both prices and quality of essential items, promising that the administration will ensure availability of quality goods at reasonable rates. The District Administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against profiteers, with DC Syed Musa Raza issuing clear instructions that price gouging will not be tolerated anywhere in the city, including at Ramadan Sahulat stalls. “The District Administration Lahore will ensure excellent facilities for citizens during Ramadan, with proper security arrangements at Ramadan bazaars,” he added. Special consideration has been directed for elderly citizens and women, with dedicated queues to be established at all relevant facilities. Price control magistrates have been instructed to conduct maximum inspections, with the Deputy Commissioner emphasising that there will be a strict no-tolerance policy for rule violations. DC Syed Musa Raza called upon all stakeholders to play their role in providing relief to citizens during the holy month. The Market Committee has been fully activated on the directive of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza, maintaining strict vigilance against profiteers in the city’s markets. DC Lahore has emphasised that ample quantities of potatoes, onions, and tomatoes will be ensured, and prices of essential items will be kept under control with stern action against elements involved in price gouging. “Price control of essential items during the month of fasting will be strictly ensured,” declared the Deputy Commissioner. He has directed that Assistant Commissioners, Price Control Magistrates and their teams remain active at all times to maintain market stability. The administration reports that vegetable prices have stabilised across the city, with the Deputy Commissioner personally leading efforts for public relief. “Keeping prices under control is our top priority,” stated Deputy Commissioner Lahore.
