LAHORE, October 13: In a continued crackdown against aerial firing, Lahore Police have intensified operations across the city, resulting in the arrest of over 2,700 suspects and registration of 1,273 FIRs this year.

According to a statement issued by the Lahore Police spokesperson, the campaign against aerial firing has gained momentum in recent months. In a district-wise breakdown, 827 suspects were apprehended in Cantonment Division, 498 in Saddar Division and 447 in Model Town Division.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, reiterated a policy of zero tolerance towards aerial firing, calling it a life-threatening act. “Those involved in such reckless behaviour will face imprisonment,” he warned.
The CCPO has directed SHOs across the city to ensure strict enforcement of the ban on aerial firing, display of firearms and “Dala Culture”.
CCPO Lahore urges religious scholars, educators, and the media to actively raise public awareness about the dangers of aerial firing. “Social media content promoting or glorifying aerial firing will be dealt with under the law,” he added.
He appealed to the public to play their part as responsible citizens by respecting the law and reporting aerial firing incidents, either at the nearest police station or via the Police Emergency Helpline 15. “Together, we can build a safer, more peaceful society,” he concluded.
