By Sheikh Ibrahim, Chairman Founders Group

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is not merely an institution; it is the collective voice of our business community, a platform that represents traders, industrialists and entrepreneurs, and a bridge between the private sector and policymakers.

For decades, the Lahore Chamber has played a vital role in highlighting the concerns of the business community and working towards creating a more conducive environment for trade and industry. Today, as I present myself before the respected members of the Lahore Chamber for the position of Chairman, I consider it not just an honour but a great responsibility.

My commitment has always been rooted in the principles of service, integrity and dedication. Under the leadership of the Founders Group, we have believed that leadership is not about authority or position; it is about serving people, understanding their challenges and working tirelessly to find solutions.

The business community is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. From small traders to large industrialists, millions of people depend on a stable and supportive business environment for their livelihoods. However, entrepreneurs today face numerous challenges, including complicated procedures, regulatory hurdles, rising costs and difficulties in expanding their businesses.

My foremost priority will be to promote business facilitation. We will work towards reducing unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles and strengthening coordination between relevant institutions so that traders can focus their energy on growth, investment and innovation rather than spending valuable time dealing with administrative complexities.

A modern business environment requires modern solutions. A transparent and efficient system, including improved facilitation services and effective one-window operations, can significantly improve ease of doing business and encourage new investment in Lahore.

Another important area of focus will be empowering the young generation. Young entrepreneurs represent the future of Pakistan’s economy. They possess creativity, energy and new ideas, but they require proper guidance, mentorship and opportunities. We will work to create platforms where young businessmen can learn, connect and explore new avenues for growth.

In today’s interconnected world, no economy can progress without strong international linkages. Lahore has tremendous potential in various sectors, including manufacturing, exports, technology and services. Our efforts will be directed towards connecting local businesses with global markets, promoting trade opportunities and helping Pakistani products achieve greater recognition worldwide.

Transparency and accountability will remain at the heart of our approach. The Lahore Chamber belongs to all its members, and every decision taken by the institution should reflect their trust and confidence. We believe that openness, fairness and consultation with stakeholders are essential for building a stronger and more effective chamber.

I do not believe in making promises that remain limited to words. The real measure of leadership is performance and results. The history of the Founders Group reflects our commitment to action, and our identity has always been defined by work rather than slogans.

At a time when economies across the world are facing uncertainty and challenges, the business community needs leadership that combines experience with honesty, listens carefully and delivers practical solutions. My objective will be to work with all members of the Lahore Chamber and make it a more responsive, active and influential institution.

I seek the trust and support of the respected members of the Lahore Chamber not for personal ambition, but for the opportunity to serve. If given the responsibility, I assure you that I will dedicate my full efforts, time and commitment towards strengthening the business community and addressing its genuine concerns.

Together, we can make Lahore a stronger centre of trade, investment and entrepreneurship. With unity, dedication and collective effort, the Lahore Chamber can achieve new milestones and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s economic progress.

May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to serve our business community with sincerity and guide us towards success.

Pakistan Zindabad. Lahore Chamber Zindabad.
