LONDON (Web Desk) – Britain experienced its hottest June day since records began, as temperatures soared to a new monthly record amid an ongoing heatwave affecting large parts of the country.
The record temperature of 35.7 degrees Celsius was registered in southern England, narrowly exceeding the previous June record that had stood for decades. Meteorologists said the exceptional heat reflects a broader trend of increasingly frequent and intense warm-weather events.
The latest milestone comes just weeks after Britain recorded its hottest day ever for the month of May, highlighting a remarkable start to the summer season.
Health authorities and weather experts have urged residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses, particularly vulnerable groups such as older people, young children and those with underlying health conditions.
Climate specialists noted that extreme temperature events are becoming more common across Europe, with several countries experiencing unusually high temperatures in recent years.
Forecasters expect warm conditions to persist in parts of the United Kingdom, while authorities continue monitoring the impact of the heat on public health, transport and infrastructure.
