TEHRAN (Agencies) -Iran’s Defence Ministry spokesman Reza Talaei-Nik has warned that the United States could face “more defeats” if it fails to recognise Iran’s rights, amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to remarks reported by Iranian media and cited by Al Jazeera, Talaei-Nik said the only solution for what he described as the “third imposed war” against Iran was for the United States and its allies to accept the demands of the Iranian people.
“The only way out of the third imposed war for the American-Zionist enemy, on both the battlefield and in diplomacy, is to secure the demands of the Iranian people,” Talaei-Nik said while speaking to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
The Iranian official also directly addressed US President Donald Trump, urging Washington to reconsider its approach toward Tehran. He stated that accepting Iran’s proposals could help prevent further political and economic losses for the United States and the wider international community.
“While accepting Iran’s proposal, Trump should also be mindful of preventing further losses and costs in the continuation of the war for the American people and the international community,” he added.
The statement comes at a time of heightened regional tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States, with concerns growing over possible military escalation and instability in the Middle East. Iranian officials have repeatedly accused Washington and Israel of increasing pressure on Tehran through sanctions, military threats and diplomatic isolation.
Iranian leadership has maintained that the country will continue defending its sovereignty and regional interests despite international pressure. Tehran has also repeatedly stressed that it will not compromise on what it describes as its legitimate national rights.
Relations between Iran and the United States have remained strained for years over issues including sanctions, nuclear activities, regional conflicts and military presence in the Middle East. Diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions have faced repeated setbacks, while both sides continue exchanging strong rhetoric.
Analysts believe the latest remarks reflect Tehran’s effort to strengthen its negotiating position while signalling resistance against external pressure. The comments may also further complicate ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region, especially as global powers continue seeking stability in the Middle East amid rising security concerns.
The United States has not yet officially responded to Talaei-Nik’s latest remarks.
