The report, carried by Fars News Agency, stated that the strike hit a facility in the Eastern Province. However, Saudi authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming or responding to the incident.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces said it had conducted a strike on a petrochemical facility in Shiraz, in southwestern Iran.
In a statement, the Israeli military claimed the site was involved in producing nitric acid allegedly used by Iran’s armed forces. It described the facility as one of the remaining locations manufacturing key chemical components for explosives and materials linked to ballistic missile development, though no supporting evidence was provided.
The latest exchange of strikes highlights a widening confrontation in the region, with strategic energy infrastructure increasingly becoming a target.
