LAHORE: Lahore police have arrested 637 one-wheelers and registered 604 cases so far this year as part of an ongoing crackdown against wheeling and dangerous racing.
This was stated by the spokesperson for Lahore Police in a statement issued here on Monday. The spokesperson said that 166 suspects were arrested in Model Town Division, 146 in Cantonment Division, 100 in Civil Lines Division, 72 in City Division, 76 in Saddar Division and 77 in Iqbal Town Division.
Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed that indiscriminate action against those involved in wheeling and racing should continue and that patrolling teams be deployed at identified hotspots. He further ordered strict action against individuals contributing to environmental pollution by removing silencers, as well as a crackdown on workshops carrying out illegal alterations to motorcycles.

The CCPO urged parents not to allow underage children to drive. He also directed the traffic police to raise awareness among citizens about safe driving practices.
He appealed to the public to report incidents of wheeling, racing and underage driving to the helpline 15 to ensure prompt action.
