Virtual Blood Bank becomes lifeline for Afghan child and Abbottabad girl in Lahore

LAHORE: Under the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Virtual Blood Bank at Safe City once again proved to be a true lifesaver. The advanced system of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority came to the rescue in two critical medical emergencies, saving precious lives through timely blood supply.

In one case, a 9-year-old Afghan child battling cancer at Shaukat Khanum Hospital urgently needed O+ blood. Thanks to the swift response of the Virtual Blood Bank, the blood was arranged immediately, giving the young patient a fighting chance to continue his treatment.

In another case, a girl who had traveled all the way from Abbottabad to Lahore for a liver transplant received the required blood just in time. Both families had reached out to the Virtual Blood Bank through the emergency helpline 15, and the system promptly tapped into its updated database to locate suitable donors.

This quick and efficient service not only saved lives but also brought immense relief to the worried families, who expressed heartfelt gratitude and prayers for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
