Nauman Aslam Sheikh informed that IPO is currently providing five major services: trademark, copyright, patent, industrial design, and geographical indication. He said that over 100 Pakistani products have been identified for geographical indication registration. Out of these, 22 products have already been registered, while work on the remaining ones is ongoing. He admitted that Pakistan is behind other regional countries in this process, but efforts are underway to complete it quickly.
The DG IPO expressed his commitment to working with the Lahore Chamber to raise awareness among businesspeople about the importance of IPO.
Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol mentioned that having an IPO office in the basement of the Lahore Chamber is a great convenience for LCCI members. Both organizations regularly collaborate to hold awareness sessions, helping businesses understand how to secure their product trademarks.
