LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, while addressing the “Girls Education Fest” organized by the NGOs Bargad and Youth Tube, stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, record work has been carried out in the education sector over the past two years. Today, the scope of educational reforms in Punjab is expanding rapidly. Steps taken for the promotion of higher education have aligned Punjab’s educational landscape with global standards.
Encouraging the girls who participated in model-making competitions, speech contests, quizzes, and other activities at the Girls Education Fest organized by Bargad and Youth Tube, the Education Minister announced cash prizes for each participating girl. He said that the vision of the Punjab Government is to provide quality education to every child in the province. The government’s focus is on equipping every student with modern skills and connecting them to a dignified future by giving them confidence to move forward.
He added that students in government schools are now being provided with STEM programs, co-curricular activities, and leadership opportunities. He emphasized that the government is placing special focus on girls’ education, and that girls are outperforming boys in every field. With a focus on girls’ education, a girls’ high school in Nath Kalan village, Nori Nath, was upgraded yesterday and presented as a gift on Education Day. The Education Minister further stated that a greater number of beneficiaries of laptop and scholarship schemes are girls. He said that the standard of education in Punjab is improving.
To promote technology, 52,000 Grade 9 students are appearing in the Matric in Technology examination this year.
Rana Sikandar Hayat concluded by saying that Punjab’s education system is on the path of progress, and when the achievements of the next four years are compared with the past 77 years, there will be much to take pride in. On this occasion, the Education Minister, along with Malala Fund Chief Executive Dr. Nishat Riaz and Youth Tube CEO Iqbal Haider Butt, also distributed prizes among the winning students of various competitions at the Girls Education Fest.
