LAHORE – The Punjab Assembly Privileges Committee has expressed strong displeasure over repeated absenteeism of bureaucrats in its meetings and decided to write a formal letter to the Chief Secretary Punjab to make officer attendance mandatory.

The meeting, chaired by Samiullah Khan, reviewed four privilege motions. The committee censured the Director CDA Islamabad for failing to appear on the motion raised by Muhammad Bilal Yameen. Similarly, the ADCR Lahore was absent during discussion of a motion concerning his office.

Chairman Samiullah Khan directed that a stern letter be sent to the Chief Secretary Punjab, emphasizing that non-attendance of officers in committee meetings would no longer be tolerated.

Meanwhile, Ghazali Saleem Butt’s motion was disposed of after the related issue was resolved, while Shaukat Raja’s motion was postponed due to the absence of a member.

The meeting was attended by Khalid Mahmood, Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Syed Mohsin Masood Bukhari, Special Secretary Legislation Faisal Bilal Buttar, Additional Secretary Committees, and officers from various departments.
