LAHORE: The National Women Journalists Forum organized a charming one-dish party for women journalists at the hill of the Lahore Press Club, marking the first event of its kind in the club’s history. The initiative was widely appreciated by the journalist community for promoting fellowship and a positive professional environment.
Women journalists from various media organizations participated in the colourful gathering. Those in attendance included senior journalists Farah Warraich, Sadia Salahuddin, Sadia Qureshi, President National Women Journalists Forum Farzana Chaudhry, Kanwal Naseem, Tamsila Chishti, Rafia Naheed Ikram, Najaf, General Secretary Darakhshanda Alamdar, Vice President Mubashara Sultan, Azka Maqsood, Secretary Information Nabila Akbar, Lubni Khan, Iffat Alvi, Zahida Parveen, Sofia Yazdani, Zubaida Anwar Khan, Saima Iqbal, Mubashara Anwar, Raheela Mughal, Saima Nazir, Shaheen Rashid, Iqra Liaquat, Maimuna Siddiqa, Falak Zahid, Ayesha Tahseen, Aini Bajwa, Ayesha Fayyaz and Mehreen Jamil.
Participants prepared their own dishes for the one-dish party. The table featured a wide range of homemade delicacies including chicken achari, chicken biryani, pea pulao, chicken chowmein, pasta, nuggets, egg kofta, bitter gourd, the Punjabi cultural dish saag, chicken kadhi, nihari, raita, Russian salad, chana chaat, potato chicken cutlets, chicken macaroni, gulab jamun, barfi, rasgulla and assorted cold drinks. The colourful attire, smiling faces and aroma of home-cooked food made the gathering unique and memorable.
During the event, senior journalists Farah Warraich, Farzana Chaudhry and Saadia Qureshi briefed participants on practical ways to enhance income through side businesses. They also announced that a one-day business training workshop would be organized soon.
Adding to the festive environment, senior journalist Rafia Ikram distributed gajras among the women, while Nabila Akbar presented jhumkas to participants, enhancing the spirit of joy and friendship.
At the conclusion, Farzana Chaudhry, President of the National Women Journalists Forum, thanked all attendees and said such activities not only generate positive energy among women journalists but also strengthen mutual relations and professional cooperation.
