LAHORE: : Police Khidmat Marakaz have emerged as an effective digital platform for the delivery of public services, with more than 1.85 million citizens availing various facilities during the current year, officials said on Tuesday.

According to the spokesperson for the Lahore police, over 138,000 police character certificates were issued through the centres, while more than 285,000 citizens benefited from different verification services. During the same period, 450 crime reports were lodged and over 16,000 lost reports were registered. In addition, more than 15,000 copies of first information reports (FIRs) were provided to applicants.
The spokesperson said the centres also facilitated driving license-related services, issuing more than 823,000 learner driving licenses and 369,000 driving license. Besides, over 164,000 licenses were renewed, around 8,000 duplicate licenses issued and 24,000 international driving licenses processed. A total of 2,206 tenants registered their tenancy information, while 1,026 citizens availed vehicle verification services.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said Police Khidmat Marakaz were playing a vital role in providing prompt relief to citizens. He added that the centres had become a symbol of trust, convenience and transparency, and that one-window digital services were significantly improving the quality of public service delivery through police reforms.
