Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, represented Pakistan at the Fourth Financing for Development (FFD4) conference, held as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) forum in Seville, Spain.

The high-profile international event brought together global leaders, investors, and experts to explore innovative financing models and collaborative solutions for advancing sustainable development across the world.
Dr. Malik was accompanied by Miss Ahad Yousaf Khan, Director of Environment and Climate Change, and Mr. Mohsin Atiq, Director of Hydrology, both of whom actively participated in discussions on environmental initiatives and sustainable development strategies.
Pakistan highlighted several key green projects during the conference. Waqas Mohsin presented the Biowaste Energy Project, showcasing sustainable energy solutions derived from organic waste. Representatives from RUDA pitched the Wastewater Treatment Plant Project for the River Ravi, underlining its importance for environmental protection and sustainable urban development. Hamid from Technology Integrax also contributed insights on technological innovations for sustainability.
In his address, Dr. Musadik Malik emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to addressing climate change and achieving the SDGs, calling for greater international cooperation and private-sector participation to mobilize investment in sustainable initiatives.
“The FFD4 SDG conference is an excellent platform to share Pakistan’s progress and challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” Dr. Malik stated. “Private sector participation in this forum opens avenues for investment in Pakistan’s green future. We are determined to collaborate with global partners to tackle climate change and promote sustainable development.”
The conference also offered valuable networking opportunities and a platform for building partnerships that support Pakistan’s environmental and sustainability objectives.
