LAHORE: Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmed Khan Bachhar, has pledged strong support for the Grand Health Alliance, promising to fight for their rights on the assembly floor. Addressing the protesting workers, he criticized the Punjab government for failing to provide basic necessities and said the state must prioritize public welfare.

He lambasted Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, accusing her of running the government “through TikTok” and lacking seriousness in governance. “We stood with you before and we will continue to do so,” he said.
Malik Ahmed said health workers were the backbone of the system and deserved dignity, not neglect. He emphasized that the opposition will not stay silent while women and elderly professionals sit under the scorching sun. “We were beaten before, and we are ready to endure it again for your rights,” he said. He urged the government to reverse its decisions and warned that silence over injustice would further damage public trust in the administration. The protestors, in return, raised slogans demanding justice and immediate government attention.
