TEHRAN(Web Desk) The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-affiliated Fars News Agency has denied any communication with former US President Donald Trump, rejecting his claims of ongoing discussions with Iran amid rising tensions over the Strait of Hormuz.
Fars News reported, citing an Iranian source, that there had been “no direct or indirect contact” with Trump, countering his earlier remarks that suggested constructive engagement between Washington and Tehran.
According to the source, Trump allegedly “backed down” after warnings that Iran could target “all power plants in West Asia” if tensions escalated further.
Earlier, Trump stated that the United States and Iran had engaged in “very good and productive conversations,” and he also ordered a five-day delay in planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, signaling a temporary de-escalation in the situation.
The latest statements highlight conflicting narratives between the two sides, as tensions remain high over strategic maritime routes and regional security concerns in the Gulf.
