LAHORE : Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has said that October 27, 1947, marks one of the darkest days in history, when India illegally occupied the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that even today, the people of Kashmir continue to sacrifice for their freedom and their inalienable right to self-determination.

He said that the people and government of Pakistan observe October 27 every year as “Black Day” to remind the world that India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir was a blatant violation of United Nations resolutions and the principles of the partition of the subcontinent.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government stands in complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people. He added that events, seminars, and rallies are being held across Punjab under the theme of “Kashmir Solidarity” to educate the younger generation about the sacrifices and struggle of the Kashmiri people. The Minister further said that the freedom movement of the Kashmiri people is a just and legitimate struggle that deserves global recognition. He urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to ensure the implementation of its resolutions so that the Kashmiri people may be granted their fundamental right to self-determination.
He reaffirmed that the people of Pakistan will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and raise their voice for justice and freedom at every international forum.
