LAHORE, October 27: Vice Chairman of the Pioneer Business Group (PBG), Yousaf Shah, has strongly condemned India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, marking October 27 as a “Black Day” in solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people.
He said that on this day in 1947, Indian forces forcibly entered Kashmir against the will of its people, violating the principles of independence and self-determination. “Seventy-eight years have passed, yet the people of Kashmir continue to face brutalities, curfews, human rights violations, and suppression under Indian occupation,” Yousaf Shah remarked.
He reiterated that the issue of Jammu and Kashmir remains unfinished on the agenda of the United Nations and called upon the international community to play its role in ensuring the implementation of UN resolutions that guarantee the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people.
Yousaf Shah emphasized that Pakistan has always stood by its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue its moral, political, and diplomatic support until the valley attains freedom from Indian rule. “The sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will not go in vain. The world must recognize their struggle for justice and liberty,” he added.
He urged world powers and human rights organizations to break their silence over the atrocities committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to push for lasting peace in South Asia through a fair resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
