Minister for Minorities Affairs, returns to Pakistan after visits to UK and Italy

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs Punjab, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, returned to Pakistan after completing successful official visits to the United Kingdom and Italy. Upon his arrival at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, he was warmly received by representatives of various religious minority communities who praised his efforts in projecting a positive image of Pakistan on international platforms.

The welcoming delegation included Rev. Dr. Majeed Abel from Nolakha Presbyterian Church, Pastor Ashiq, Waseem Raja, Aqaab Alam, Zaheer Babar, and other minority leaders and community members.

Speaking to the media on this occasion, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said that his visit to the UK and Italy involved significant meetings with diaspora communities, interfaith harmony representatives, and global organizations. He expressed confidence that the positive outcomes of these engagements would be visible in the near future. He emphasized that the objective of these visits was to promote the development, religious freedom, investment, and educational partnerships for Pakistani minorities at the international level. He further added that the current government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is committed to ensuring minority rights, educational and employment opportunities, and increased representation in public institutions.

On the occasion, Rev. Dr. Majeed Abel stated that it is a matter of pride for the minority communities of Pakistan that their representative is becoming a strong voice at international forums. He added that under the leadership of Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, minority communities are feeling increasingly empowered and recognized. Dr. Abel remarked that this international tour not only helped project a positive and inclusive image of Pakistani minorities but also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to religious harmony and human equality in the eyes of the world.

During his visit, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora held key meetings with parliamentary groups, Sikh community leaders, and human rights organizations in the UK. In Italy, he participated in an international peace conference and delivered a noteworthy address highlighting the role of minorities in promoting global peace and social cohesion.
