LAHORE: Vision Alliance candidate for the Corporate Class of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Mardan Ali Zaidi, has called for greater unity among the business community and urged eligible LCCI members to participate actively in the upcoming chamber elections.
The LCCI elections are scheduled for Sept. 23 and 24, 2026, with Corporate Class polling taking place on Sept. 23 and Associate Class polling on Sept. 24.
Speaking during his election campaign, Mardan Ali Zaidi said the business community needed effective representation and a stronger collective voice to raise issues affecting traders, industrialists and entrepreneurs.
He said the Vision Alliance was seeking representation in the chamber with a focus on maintaining close engagement with members and highlighting their concerns before relevant government institutions.
Zaidi said businesspeople were facing challenges related to taxation, energy costs, regulatory requirements, trade facilitation and the overall cost of doing business. He maintained that the chamber should continue playing an active role in presenting these issues before policymakers and seeking practical solutions.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining unity among different segments of Lahore’s business community. According to him, cooperation between traders, manufacturers, exporters and other business groups could help strengthen the chamber’s role as an effective platform for private-sector representation.
The Vision Alliance candidate said he would work for greater interaction with LCCI members and support initiatives aimed at improving business facilitation and strengthening communication between the chamber and its membership.
Zaidi also highlighted the importance of the Corporate Class election on Sept. 23, saying eligible corporate members would have an opportunity to participate in determining the chamber’s future Executive Committee.
He urged members to review the candidates and their respective agendas before casting their votes, while stressing that participation in the election was important for ensuring representation of the business community.
The Vision Alliance is contesting the 2026 LCCI elections under the leadership of presidential candidate Ali Hussam Asghar. Recent reports have documented campaign activity and support for the alliance ahead of the Sept. 23-24 polling.
Mardan Ali Zaidi said he would continue meeting members and business associations during the remaining campaign period and would present their concerns at the chamber if elected.
