LAHORE: Vision Alliance leader Khadim Hussain has emphasised the importance of unity, consultation and effective representation of Lahore’s business community as the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) elections approach.

Speaking during the election campaign, Hussain said the chamber should remain closely connected with traders, industrialists, exporters and other members so that their concerns could be effectively communicated to policymakers and relevant government institutions.
He said the business community was dealing with a range of challenges, including taxation, energy costs, regulatory requirements, trade facilitation and the overall cost of doing business. He maintained that these issues required sustained engagement between the chamber, business associations and government institutions.
Hussain said Vision Alliance was focusing on greater coordination among different segments of the business community and strengthening the chamber’s role as a platform for consultation and representation.
He said a strong chamber should provide members with opportunities to present their concerns, discuss sector-specific problems and contribute to policy discussions affecting trade and industry.
According to Hussain, the upcoming LCCI elections also provide members an opportunity to participate in the chamber’s governance and consider the programmes and priorities presented by competing candidates and alliances.
He stressed the importance of maintaining a constructive and respectful election environment, saying differences over business policies and priorities should be addressed through dialogue and consultation.
Hussain said Vision Alliance candidates would continue engaging with LCCI members and business associations during the final phase of the campaign. He added that the alliance’s focus would remain on business facilitation, policy advocacy, improved communication and stronger representation of the private sector.
The LCCI Election Commission has announced arrangements for the 2026 elections, with the process to be conducted according to the applicable rules. Reports said that the commission had completed arrangements and assured members that the elections would be transparent, peaceful and lawful.
Recent campaign reporting also identifies Khadim Hussain among figures associated with the Vision Alliance and its election activities.
Hussain said the business community should remain engaged in the electoral process and carefully consider the candidates, their experience and their stated priorities before making its choice.
