Business community needs practical reforms, stronger representation in LCCI: Khadim Hussain
LAHORE: Former Executive Committee member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Vice Chairman of the Founders Group and Corporate Class candidate for the 2026-28 term, Khadim Hussain, has said that the business community wants a strong, effective and result-oriented chamber that can address the challenges faced by traders and industrialists.
He said that the upcoming LCCI elections provide an opportunity for members of the business community to choose representatives who understand their issues and can effectively present them before relevant forums.
Khadim Hussain said traders and industrialists were facing multiple challenges, including rising business costs, taxation issues, regulatory hurdles and difficulties in conducting business. He stressed that the chamber’s role should be focused on practical solutions, continuous engagement with policymakers and creating an enabling environment for trade and industry.
“The business community does not need only statements; it needs action, representation and consistent efforts for resolving genuine issues,” he said.
He said his experience as a former Executive Committee member and his association with the Founders Group had given him a close understanding of the problems faced by different sectors of the business community.
Khadim Hussain said that the LCCI should continue strengthening its role as a bridge between the private sector and government institutions.
“The chamber belongs to the entire business community. Every trader and industrialist expects fair representation, accessibility and a voice that can effectively highlight their concerns,” he added.
Talking about the election campaign, he said that he had received encouraging feedback from traders and industrialists who wanted their representatives to focus on economic challenges rather than personal issues.
He said the business community was mature and capable of making informed decisions. “Traders and industrialists understand their priorities. They want a chamber that works for business growth, investment promotion and economic stability,” he added.
Khadim Hussain said the vision should be to strengthen industries, support small and medium enterprises, improve business facilitation and promote policies that enhance Pakistan’s economic competitiveness.
He expressed confidence that the business community would participate actively in the LCCI elections and elect representatives committed to serving traders and industrialists.
“The future of trade and industry depends on effective representation. Our focus will remain on performance, service and taking the voice of the business community forward,” Khadim Hussain said.
