KARACHI (Entertainment Desk) – Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has strongly denounced the acid attack on a female doctor in Quetta, describing the incident as a shocking act of violence and calling for justice for the victim.
In a statement shared on social media, Mahira expressed outrage over the attack, saying it was deeply disturbing that a healthcare professional dedicated to saving lives became the target of such brutality.
Referring to the victim, Dr. Mah Noor Nasir, the actress said she was profoundly affected by the incident and struggled to comprehend the level of cruelty involved. She described the attack as inhumane and said it highlighted the urgent need to protect women from violence.
Mahira stated that the incident left her filled with anger and sadness, emphasizing that the victim deserved safety, dignity and justice. She also urged society as a whole to take a stand against violence and support efforts aimed at protecting vulnerable individuals.
The attack occurred at Sandeman Provincial Hospital, where a man allegedly threw acid on the doctor, causing serious injuries.
Hospital staff immediately provided emergency medical assistance before transferring the injured doctor to a private healthcare facility for further treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later airlifted to Karachi for specialized medical care.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation on social media and among public figures, with many calling for strict action against those responsible and greater measures to ensure the safety of healthcare workers.
