LAHORE: Lahore Police have intensified their operations against elements disrupting public peace, launching a major crackdown across the provincial capital during the month of June.

According to the spokesman for Lahore Police, 594 suspects were arrested for possession of illegal weapons, with an equal number of cases registered. Additionally, 18 individuals were apprehended for aerial firing, leading to the registration of 13 FIRs.
A substantial cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during the operations, including 2 Kalashnikovs, 41 rifles, 31 shotguns, 554 pistols and more than 30,000 rounds of ammunition.
Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana reaffirmed the department’s unwavering commitment to upholding law and order. “The crackdown against those disturbing the peace is ongoing. There will be zero tolerance for illegal arms and aerial firing,” he stressed.
He directed all police units to intensify action against the possession, display and celebratory use of illegal weapons. The CCPO also ordered strict legal action against individuals promoting firearms or engaging in aerial firing on social media platforms.
“Lahore Police are working round the clock to ensure the safety and security of the citizens,” he added.
