TEHRAN (Web Desk) – Iran’s Intelligence Ministry on Saturday warned citizens against filming locations hit in recent attacks and sending the footage to foreign media outlets, saying those responsible could face legal consequences.

In a statement carried by Iranian state media, the ministry said individuals who record and share images or videos of sensitive locations with international satellite channels or online platforms would be treated as collaborators with hostile entities.

The ministry described such actions as assisting a “fifth column” working in favour of Israel, accusing those involved of unintentionally or deliberately providing intelligence that could be used for further attacks.

Authorities said that publishing images of damaged military, infrastructure or security-related sites could expose sensitive information, including the scale of damage and the location of strategic facilities.

“Anyone who films sites targeted in attacks and sends the footage to hostile foreign satellite networks, social media pages or media outlets will face legal action,” the ministry warned.

The statement added that security agencies were actively monitoring online platforms and communication channels to identify individuals suspected of sharing such material.

Officials also referred to the offenders as “soldiers of Israel,” saying security institutions would deal with them firmly under Iranian law.

The warning comes amid heightened regional tensions and a series of attacks targeting various locations in Iran. Authorities have urged citizens to avoid spreading unverified information and instead rely on official sources for updates.

Observers say governments often impose strict information controls during conflicts to prevent intelligence leaks and manage public narratives surrounding security incidents.
